To be perfectly honest, I hate cats. They are sneaky and mysterious. You can never tell what they’re thinking, where they’ve been, or what they’ve been doing. They just stare with those soulless demon eyes. Not like dogs. I always know what my dog is thinking. That’s why my dog isn’t funny. Rubbing it’s butt on the ground, chasing its tail,…boring. But cats! Oh boy, especially when they have captions above or below their evil faces! And now, some genius has taken some of the content from ICanHazCheeseburger.com and put it in one of those pre-Internet things; thin pieces of tree skin bound together. Too excited for words, me too.
So, I Can Has Cheezburger?: A LOLcat Colleckshun
is around 192 pages of the pure and perfect comedy of captioned cat pictures, and was published by Gotham earlier this year. The book is ranked in the Top 5 in most of Amazon’s cat and cute animal related book categories, a further testament to I’m sure fine quality and literary value. I myself probably won’t be buying the book, because… well they put that stuff on the Internet for free. But regardless, while being surprised by Amazon’s creepily on-target e-mail bot that alerts me to books I might like, I also got a look at some of these other winners:
From Cute Overload comes the Cute Overload 2009 Desk Calendar
. Realistically, I Can Has Cheeseburger and Cuteoverload combined create some sort digital anti-depressant that is incredibly powerful. I’ve tricked myself out of some stupid stuff just by wasting an hour or two. Not that I’m a particularly big fan of kittens or fluffy little animals. But, why not, right? It’s safer than crack and hookers.
Further Amazon exploration revealed a series some might be familiar with, that starts with: Stuff on My Cat: The Book
. The Book, as opposed to The Game: putting stuff on peoples’ cats, which is slightly more fun. This gem was later proceeded by More Stuff on My Cat: 2x the Stuff + 2x the Cats = 4x the Awesome
.

The greatest of all these however, has to be Grandma’s Dead: Breaking Bad News with Baby Animals
. Hold the show. Not only is this an incredibly good idea, not just from a comedy perspective, but realistically I’d much rather get bad news delivered by a baby animal. Check out a couple more over on the official site, and even send a few e-cards yourself! The subject matter is pretty universal, so it shouldn’t be hard to find one that says it just right.
