On March 20th, in Youngstown, Ohio an amazing show came to Cedars Cafe. The line up consisted of The Sewing Machine War, Farewell Flight, Sam Goodwill, and D NTZ.
The Sewing Machine War is a five piece indie rock band out of the Warren, Ohio area. Watching these guys play is always a pleasure. There is a lot of sincerity behind what they do, and you can feel that while watching and listening. They have a CD about to be released on April 25th, that you will be able to pick up at Cedars at the Zou’s Nouveau Rock Fest. The Sewing Machine War is playing a show at Annabell’s in Akron, Ohio on March 27th if you want to try to catch them earlier.

The second band of the night, Farewell Flight, is a four piece indie/pop band out of Harrisburg, PA. I had the chance to see them perform previously on another great show at Cedars when they played with Lorien, Stauffer, and Sam Goodwill (which was also a phenomenal show). Farewell Flight has some very catchy tunes and are also a lot of fun to watch.
After that, Sam Goodwill took the stage. Sam Goodwill is a three piece indie/electronic band out of Youngstown, Ohio, led by Sam Buonavolonta. From the first song, you could tell that the band was giving it everything they had. The stage was filled with an amazing intensity that could not be denied. That intensity seemed to transfer out into the crowd. The catchy guitar riffs and incredible electronics almost make it impossible to stand still during their set. Be on the look out for Sam Goodwill’s EP which should be surfacing sometime soon.
To keep the crowd on it’s feet, D
NTZ closed up the show. D
NTZ was spinning records mashing up Hip Hop songs and was the perfect end to an incredible show.
Please take a moment to check out all of these bands on Myspace.
