Getting through college was tough. I hate waking up, and I especially hate 3 hour long useless classes. There were a few things that helped me stay awake and basically held my hand through my courses. My friends, whom entertained me day in and day out… and my other friends, Tim and Eric. If you are unfamiliar with Tim and Eric, they are a comedy duo with their own show called “Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show, Great Job!”. It airs on the Cartoon Network on Sunday nights at 12:30. My fellow classmates and I would watch the Adult Swim’s feed of Tim and Eric in class repeatedly in order to make the day more tolerable.
Last year I heard about Tim and Eric Awesome Con, which is an outdoor convention held by Tim and Eric in San Diego, in which games are played and picnics are eaten. I had dreams of someday collecting my things and heading to San Diego so that I could spend the day with Tim and Eric, and possibly share a picnic with them. You could only imagine the absolute joy that built up inside of me when I heard that they were going on a comedy tour, and making a stop in Columbus, Ohio on January 26th. After I made sure some pals were down for the trip, the tickets were as good as bought.
From the moment we got on the road, I knew this trip was something special. We had good weather (which was a miracle, because the day was sandwiched in between ridiculous snow storms) and made it to Columbus without a hitch. We ate at Skyline Chili, which is famous for their Cincinatti style Chili (chili on top of spaghetti for those in the dark). It was delicious and a great start.
Once we got to the Newport Music Hall, we had to wait outside with some fellow Tim and Eric fans. We waited outside for an hour so that we could manage to get a table and seats. While waiting in line, we got to see a rapping bum(who I heard is not homeless at all) and the backflip bum (a gentleman that would do backflips for a quarter).
Once we got inside we were treated to some jams by DJ Dougpound. He told jokes and played some music and remixes. He got the crowd all hyped up and excited for Tim and Eric.
Tim and Eric’s set began with a huge projection screen which displayed backdrops and videos and the dynamic duo themselves ran out on stage singing a wonderful song about diarrhea. They were dressed in golden skin tight suits which appeared to be made of latex. The song, which lyrics consisted only of “Diarrhea, diarrhea” gradually made its way to “Meow, meow, meow, meow” in which they attached tails and cat ears to their costumes.

In between their live skits we were treated to a first look at the brand new season of Tim and Eric, which was some of the most hilarious stuff ever. I was able to brag to those who didn’t go to the show about D-pants and Napples weeks before they hit the airwaves.
All of our favorite characters were there, including the Kids Break kids, The Beaver Boys, Spaghett, Richard Quall, and David Liebe Hart. Most of the show consisted of singing and dancing, and was quite entertaining.

If you ever have a chance to see Tim and Eric live and in person, I highly recommend it.
