If anyone remembers Jake Lloyd at all, they probably remember him as being a child actor or the kid in Jingle All the Way and “Star Wars:Episode 1” (because he hasn’t really been in any movies since). He had the chance when he was a child to live out the fantasy of a lot of sci-fi fans…to be a part of the Star Wars universe. Unfortunately, he was given the hardest role of all. He had to play one of the biggest badasses ever portrayed on screen…Darth Vader…as a child.
Sci-fi Australia recently caught up with him in this youtube video and caught fans or non-fans up on what he’s been doing since being one of the contributing factors to making “Star Wars: Episode 1” suck so much. Apparently, he went to high school where people never let him forget that he was Anakin. After the experience he went to film school…where people never let him forget that he was Anakin and now he’s taking a year off to work in the convention circuit where he’s surrounded by the people that bought tickets to see him play…Anakin. He’s in the middle of film school at Columbia University Chicago.
He said that he hasn’t watched Episode 1 in ten years, meaning that he hasn’t seen it since it was released. He also said that it was a film meant for children, young adults and fans that can let themselves enjoy it. Even as a young adult, I tried to let myself enjoy it and could only enjoy Obi-Wan and Darth Maul…Darth Maul got chopped in half. I wonder if Jake’s rocking back and forth throughout the interview is supposed to be hypnotizing and making us forget that it was him in Star Wars.
It’s as if he’s trying to tell us something. This is my guess at what it is: Jar Jar Binks(at 18 seconds you see his fate) sucked more than I did. I was better than the model turned actor (Hayden Christensen) that played Anakin in the other movies…at least it wasn’t Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Hopefully Jake Lloyd gets a chance to redeem himself instead of being remembered as the little kid that began the steady decline of a franchise. If it worked for Robert Downey Jr, it can work for anyone.

He talks like a big nerd.
I don’t even know how anyone would recognize him, because I don’t think I would.
