So I’m almost done re-designing this web-site and it just so happens to be occuring around our 1 year anniversary. One whole year of interneting. There’s been a lot of interesting events that have happended in that one year: friendships ruined, bones broken, lives lost, stickers everywhere. All for a web-site. One stinking web-site out of billions just like it. Literally: billions. And what do we have to show for it? Well, Michael Jackson is dead. He’s also dead satirically for that matter. Also I’m not so sure I like Star Wars anymore and things are a whole lot different than they were a year ago. But, we’ve put a lot of that aside to focus on a brand new and somewhat relevant Horse Eats Town.
So what exactly was it all for? A whole year has gone by, maybe we get 1,000 unique hits a month out of it all and little to no visitor participation in anything we do. We could literally cure cancer on Mars and no one would comment. Well I’ll tell you what it was for. It was for this right here:
You know who that is? That’s the real Boba Fett. No armor, no weapons. Boba Fett. And that’s a custom personalized picture taken at The Screaming Tiki Convention. There’s a lot to web design and web development: AJAX, JQuery, .NET, ASP, Classic ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, SOAP, XML, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, C#, mySQL, Ruby on Ruby and so forth. But, there’s nothing and I mean nothing out there about pictures of the real life Boba Fett. I mean, come on.
So technically we haven’t done too bad I’d say. Maybe in our own minds at least. Justin came from something called The Litterbox, and I may or may not have been involved with something called Cow News depending on who asks and in what state. And Rodney. What can be said about Rodney? Tom, well Tom’s been through about every awful web-site I’ve ever made. Back when they were written in Perl with databases made of text files seperated by “|”. Always seperated by “|”. Always.
So what’s to be expected and what’s the point of this blog? Well. We will probably launch the new site design sometime soon. Maybe this week. And I’m thinking about writing various tutorials and web design/development related blogs just for fun. I mean, its not like there is already a million people doing it already or anything
Oh, and we’re going to get super sappy about the anniversary stuff. Like tears and birthday cake sappy.
Come to think of it, all that Boba Fett stuff will probably make more sense after watching this video:
