This is a movie that was made for anyone that has ever had to beg the question “Just what the hell did I do last night?” Hopefully, that person doesn’t have to ask it after discovering that there’s a tiger in the bathroom of their hotel. This is an extremely funny movie. The writers captured four very different characters’ friendships very well and let them go wild.
For anyone that doesn’t know the premise of the movie, three groomsmen decide to take their friend Doug out to Las Vegas two nights before he’s married for his bachelor party. The next morning he’s gone and they have to find him. The only trick is that (just like a lot of drunken experiences) they can only rely on whatever other people tell them they did to figure out what happened.
The characters in the film are memorable. None are as memorable as Doug’s insane future brother-in-law, Alan, played by Zach Galifianakis. He is hilarious and extremely quotable. He steals every single scene that he’s in, no matter who he is in it with. He is a great comedic actor. Hopefully this movie will make him more of a star. The other groomsmen: Phil, played by Bradley Cooper (the guy dating Claire in “Wedding Crashers”) and Ed Helms were good too. Justin Bartha played Doug and was pretty good for the time that he was there.
The film made 45 million dollars over the weekend and a sequel has been green-lit. This film was extremely funny and the situations that they found themselves in were great. If you enjoy movies such as “Old School”, “Wedding Crashers”, “American Pie” or “Pineapple Express” go see it. I give this film four stars.
